Saturday took me to Forest of Arden Marriott hotel to see my old school friend Kelly and her six bridesmaids and mom. Holly Seaman, hair stylist came with me to create the hair styles the bridesmaid wanted whilst I spent the time on everyones makeup and with Kelly creating her vision for her hair and makeup.
I knew at her trial that Kelly was going to be a stunning bride. At her trial she decided she wanted her hair n a high updo, off her face with her tiara. But having seen Michelle Keegans wedding day she had a last minute change of heart for her hair. So after a last minute trial on Tuesday we tried a couple of low down styles and she decided that she wanted her long brown hair in an elegant, sophisticated chignon style at the nape of her neck. Perfect style to complement the beautiful crystal tiara and floor length veil she had chosen.
Kelly chose to have her eye makeup smokey in brown and neutral tones with a beautiful pale pink lip. Her fantastic cheekbones demanded some contouring and highlighting leaving her glowing.
Kelly bridesmaids kept me entertained all morning singing and dancing, even testing out their yoga poses. Holly created a beautiful low down messy bun style with plaits for some detail. Bouncing on the bed to “going to the chapel” really tested out how well having your hair professionally styled lasts for the entire day! Kelly chose soft pinks and browns for the bridesmaid makeup with a bolder purple toned lipstick that fitted fantastically with Kellys theme and the pale green dresses they wore.
Kellys mom Theresa hadn’t planned to have her makeup done but on seeing how fabulous Airbrush really is she decided to treat herself. And what a beauty she looked. I do love doing the moms, they always look fantastic!
The groom had his own input to the morning when he surprised Kelly with an amazing pair of Jimmy Choos!
It was an emotional morning and clear to see how much Kellys bridesmaids care for her and how happy they were for her. When she revealed herself in her stunning dress and veil there were lots of tears. Danielle, Emma and Natalie, Kellys little sisters and Clare, Laura and Jodie, her oldest friends were on top form for the morning and helped Kelly create a getting ready experience she will never forget. It was mine and Hollies pleasure to be part of it and another example of how fantastic my job really is.
Congratulations Kelly & Dean.
